The president of the Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos (CPTM), Pedro Moro, said that the studies for the Intercity Train, linking the cities of São Paulo and Campinas, in the interior of the state, should be completed in the first half of this year. The forecast is to hold the public consultation of the project in the second half of 2020.
The project foresees the use of the existing routes of Line 7-Rubi, operated by CPTM between São Paulo and the city of Jundiaí. The estimate is a 30-minute trip between São Paulo and Jundiaí, and one hour between São Paulo and Campinas.
