Aiming at the safety, health and well-being of its customers, CCR Metrô Bahia continues to invest in Covid-19’s actions to combat the pandemic. The Metro System of Salvador and Lauro de Freitas, in the Brazilian state of Bahia, has just won the SAFEGUARD seal after a rigorous audit process carried out by the international group Bureau Veritas. This is the first time that a system in the passenger transport segment in Brazil has been recognized with this certification, which guarantees compliance with and adoption of the quality, health and safety standards necessary to deal with Covid-19.

Based on the protocol produced by Bureau Veritas, in line with the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO), all stations, terminals, trains and shuttles will also be audited monthly, thus ensuring compliance with the guidelines and protocols to combat Covid- 19.

“We continue to invest in actions to fight the pandemic, ensuring more safety for customers on their subway journeys and for our employees during their workday,” says Andre Costa, CEO of CCR Metrô Bahia. “We also emphasize that this action does not eliminate the use of masks, which is mandatory in public transport”, completes the executive.
