The National Association of Transporters of Passengers on Rail (ANPTrilhos) received in the last week of June a delegation of the Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation (MRVC). The Association organized visits to the transportation systems on rail in the city of São Paulo (SP) and in the city of Rio de Janeiro (RJ), besides visits to the Brazilian Association of Railway Industry (ABIFER) and the Alstom factory, located in the Lapa district, in the city of São Paulo.
The Mumbai metro delegation was comprised by the president of MRVC, Sanjay Singh; by its Project Director, Vilas Wadekar and by its Operations Director, Prabhat Ranjan. The Executive Director of Frauscher no Brasil, Maicon Ferrari, accompanied the group in the visits. MRVC is a subsidiary of Indian Railways and responsible for urban transportation projects of Mumbai, the largest city of India.
In São Paulo, the delegation was received by the Planning Director of ANPTrilhos and the head of the technical cooperation of the São Paulo Metro, Conrado Grava de Souza, who made a presentation about the transportation of passengers on rail in Brazil. The group visited the Operational Control Center (CCO) of the São Paulo Metro, Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos (CPTM) and ViaQuatro, operator of Line 4-Yellow of São Paulo, the first driverless line of Brazil and Latin America.
The group was also received by the president of ABIFER, Vicente Abate, who made a presentation about the Brazilian metrorail industry. Within the programming, the delegation also visited the Alstom factory in the Lapa district, in the city of São Paulo.
In the city of Rio de Janeiro (RJ), the group was received by the president of MetrôRio, Flávio Almada, and by the president of ANPTrilhos and Engineering director of MetrôRio, Joubert Flores, who made a presentation about the new line of Rio de Janeiro, Line 4, and accompanied the group in the visit to the metro’s Operational Control Center (CCO).
The Indian executives also went to the premises of Rio de Janeiro VLT, which started operation in the central and port regions of Rio de Janeiro in early June. The delegation was received by the Operations Director, Augusto Schein, by the technician responsible for the Rio de Janeiro VLT project, Almir Germano, and by the Operations Manager, Paulo Ferreira, who also made an institutional presentation to the group.
The agenda to know the systems of passenger transportation on rail in Brazil was concluded with the visit to SuperVia, operator of urban trains in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The group was received by the Market and Operational Planning Intelligence of SuperVia, Sonia Antunes, who also made presentations about the institution and the system operation.
