The Government of the State of Ceará has authorized the start of the work of the East Line of the Fortaleza Metro, which will connect in a 15-minute trip the Center of Fortaleza, the state capital, to Papicu, a neighborhood located between the port of Mucuripe and Praia do Futuro. The line will be able to carry up to 150 thousand passengers daily.
The project for the East Line of Fortaleza Metro will receive an investment of R$ 1.9 billion, which R$ 1 billion will be financed by the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES), R$ 673 million from Federal Government and R$ 186 million from the State Treasury. The schedule foresees completion of the work in four years.
