SuperVia, operator of trains in the Metropolitan Region of Rio de Janeiro, started to accept the payment of a ticket with a Visa card or mobile device. The approach technology has been present in some of our stations since February 2018, enabled for payment with Mastercard credit, debit and prepaid cards, in addition to Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Android Pay systems.
The update of this technology, known as “Contactless”, will allow a greater number of passengers to use this type of service. The approach payment directly at the turnstiles of the stations simplifies boarding and reduces contact with other people and with environments of great circulation (as is the case of ticket offices) at a time when social distance is still recommended.
