The City Hall of the Sorocaba city, which is located in the countryside of the State of São Paulo, performed a preliminary study for the implantation of a tram line in the city. He line would use the tracks of the freight line that crosses the city. The next phases of the project includes technical and economic feasibility studies.
The preliminary study considers a 24.1 kilometres extension, 10 stations and the use of five or seven cars trams, with a maximum speed of 70 km/h.
