The São Paulo Metrô is using a new electronic monitoring system for its stations and lines, with the use of intelligent cameras, which will bring more safety to passengers and to the operation of the lines. In all, the new internal circuit will feature 5,080 high-capacity digital cameras spread across all stations of lines 1-Blue, 2-Green, 3-Red. 2,600 new cameras are in the process of being installed, 880 will be installed next to the platform doors and another 1,600 digital cameras are already present in the stations.
In addition to increasing the operational security of the Metro network, the new system will allow the identification and tracking of objects, with instantaneous analysis of the images by artificial intelligence tools, generating alerts for the Control Center, facilitating quick action.
