The Government of São Paulo launched the notice of concession for the Lines 5-Lilac of the Metro and 17-Gold of the monorail, both located in São Paulo city. “The Auction will be on July 4th at Bovespa. The minimum bid is R$189.6 million and we expect within the concession term 3 billion of investments and reinvestments” explained the governor Geraldo Alckmin.
With the concession, the commercial operation of the two lines will be administrated by the private sector for 20 years. The estimated value of the contract is R$10.8 billion, which corresponds to the sum of the ticket fee income and the non-operational revenue, such as the commercial exploit of the free spaces inside the stations, for example.
The foreseen investment of the private partner is R$88 million, which will be applied in the improvements and infrastructure of the lines to meet performance indicators demanded by the concessionaire to offer quality services to the population of the state of São Paulo
