The Government of the State of Bahia and the Skyrail Bahia consortium presented the first train of the light monorail transport vehicle that will operate in the city of Salvador, in the Northeast region of Brazil. The presentation was by online transmission. The train will be tested and is expected to arrive in Bahia in January 2022.
The new system will have two lines and 25 stations, which will benefit around 600 thousand people living in the suburb of Salvador. Skyrail Bahia is responsible for the R$ 2.5 billion project, which includes implementation, operation and maintenance.
