CCR Metrô Bahia, the concessionaire responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Salvador and Lauro de Freitas Metro System, in the state of Bahia, further intensified the hygiene protocols on trains, aiming at the safety and protection of passengers and employees in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition to manual cleaning, which had already been reinforced, the trains now go through a process of dry mist internally.

The sanitizing product applied has the approval of the Brazilian National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa in Portuguese) and, demonstrably does not pose a risk to human health or the environment. It was developed specifically to eliminate fungi, bacteria, germs and viruses, including the coronavirus.

Once launched into the air, it reaches the entire surface and remains for up to 72 hours acting against microorganisms, although its mist dissipates in a few minutes. The product is applied daily on the trains, after the train has been retracted from the yard or platform areas.
