Opened 2 years ago, Line 3 represented the consolidation of the Carioca Light Rail project, a Light Rail Vehicle system that operates in the city center of Rio de Janeiro, and, in a short time, became the busiest line in the system. On the route that goes from Central do Brasil to Santos Dumont Airport, there are important connections with trains, subways and bus lines, but also with the history of Rio, told on the paths of Av. Marechal Floriano.
The avenue houses historic buildings such as Colégio Pedro II and Igreja de Santa Rita, in addition to important cultural spaces in the Center, such as the Itamaraty Palace and the Light Cultural Center. Today, all this tradition is accompanied by tram rides that facilitate the arrival to these places or even the view of the landscape through the windows.
