It is already available for consultation the call for Expression of Interest (PMI) preliminary to the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) of the Light Rail (VLT) and subway lines in the state of Ceará, in the Northeast of Brazil. Through the PMI, selected companies will be able to carry out studies that will serve as a basis for the construction of the future PPP model.
The presentation of proposals will be on May 18, from 8am to 1pm, local time, at the headquarter of Companhia de Transportes Metropolitanos (Metrofor), em Fortaleza. At 3pm, the opening of the envelopes will take place, marking the beginning of the internal analysis of the proposals. All PMI rules and details are available in the call for Expression of Interest. Interested companies must access the company’s website (www.metrofor.ce.gov.br) and click “PMI / EIO” to access the notice in English and Portuguese.
The Public Private Partnership – to be held after the PMI – has the objective of granting the operation and exploit of part of the subway lines of the State of Ceará. The Southern lines and the Light Rail lines of Parangaba-Mucuripe, Sobral and Cariri will be included in the PPP.
The South Line is 24.1km long, has 19 stations in operation, one under construction and interconnects three cities in the Metropolitan Region of Fortaleza (Maracanaú, Pacatuba and Fortaleza). The VLT Parangaba-Mucuripe is in the implementation phase, a stretch of 5km and 4 stations is already in Assisted Operation, transporting passengers free of charge. In total, this line will be 13.4km long and have 10 stations. In Cariri, the Light Rail has 9 stations and 13.6km of tracks. In Sobral, there are two lines that total 12 stations and 13.9km of tracks.
