The West Midlands transport authority, a metropolitan county located in central England, selected CAF to provide 21 battery-powered Light Rail Vehicles for the West Midlands subway line from the end of 2021, with the option of 29 additional trains.
The £83.5 million purchase was announced in October following a bid. The Light Rail Vehicles are expected to operate in a new extension at Centenary Square.
