After signing new contracts, Alstom announced an investment of around €14 million in modernization and adaptation of its factory in Taubaté, a city in the State of São Paulo. Five projects will have their trains manufactured at the Brazilian unit and will be in production between the end of 2021 and mid-2028.
• 36 trains, with eight cars each, for Lines 8 and 9 of the São Paulo Metropolitan Train Network, in Brazil;
• 22 trains, with six cars each, for Line 6-Orange of the São Paulo subway, in Brazil;
• 30 trains, totaling 78 cars, for line M5 of the Bucharest Metro, in Romania;
• 16 trains, with 04 cars each, for the extension of Phase 2 of Line 7 of the Taipei Metro, in Taiwan; and
• 29 trains, with 04 cars each, for the Circular Line, also from Taipei.
To develop the projects, the company announced a selection process for over 700 roles and will train professionals in partnership with the National Service for Industrial Learning – SENAI Taubaté.
