The Government of the State of Ceará signed the service order for the construction of the branch that will connect the VLT Parangaba-Mucuripe to the Fortaleza International Airport, in the Northeast region of Brazil. With works already underway, the new branch includes the construction of stations in front of the Airport and on Avenida dos Expedicionarios.

The Airport branch will be 2.65 km long, being 0.9 km on elevated. The new stations will be located in a future square, to be built on Avenida dos Expedicionarios, and the other, in front of Pinto Martins Airport. Integrated to the first station, a new one will also be built, the 11th of the Light Rail Parangaba-Mucuripe. The forecast is for completion in 2022. The planned investment is R$ 39 million.
