GRU Airport, the concessionaire of São Paulo International Airport, located in the city of Guarulhos, and the Federal Government of Brazil signed an addendum to the concession contract that includes the obligation for the concessionaire to build and operate the Automated People Mover (APM), train that will connect the airport terminals to Line 13-Jade of Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos (CPTM).

According to the Ministry of Infrastructure, R$271.7 million in investments in new transport are planned. The forecast is that the works will start in January and last 24 months.

The connection between the terminals will be 2.7 kilometers long on an elevated road, with capacity for 2,000 passengers per hour in each direction. The entire journey will take six minutes and the vehicles will have air conditioning, Wi-Fi and information panels connected to the airport.

Line 13-Jade Expansion

CPTM signed the contract for the extension works of Line 13-Jade to Barra Funda. With the cost of R$ 158 million, the document includes the preparation of an executive project, supplies and implementation of the systems. Among the activities included in the contract are the aerial traction network systems, signaling, traction energy supply and permanent way. The works deadline is 36 months.
