CBTU Belo Horizonte, operator of the subway in the capital of the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, is investing over R$ 1.5 million in the modernization of the “C” substation, installed between the Eldorado and Cidade Industrial stations. A new 138 kV voltage transformer is the Company’s latest acquisition for the site. The equipment will operate in the conversion of high voltage energy from 138kV, alternating current, received from Companhia Energética de Minas Gerais S.A. (Cemig), to 3kV, direct current, ideal for powering trains in the subway system.
