The project for granting the management of Metrô do Distrito Federal, in Brasília, the capital of Brazil, will remain in Public Consultation until September 25th. During this period, the Secretariat of Transport and Mobility expects to receive suggestions from society about the project that provides for several benefits for public transport in the Federal District, such as the increase in passenger transport capacity in the Metro by 70% and the reduction in the average time of waiting for trains at peak times by 40%.

The contributions will be used for the improvement of studies on the management, operation and maintenance of the system through a public-private partnership. The project foresees that all the assets associated with the concession will revert to the public assets after the end of the contract.

A public hearing on the project will be held on September 17th, in Brasília.
