The United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) will receive proposals for conducting energy efficiency studies for the Brazilian rail passenger transport sector until June 18, 2021. The studies are part of a Cooperation Agreement between the USTDA and the National Association of Passenger Rail Operators (ANPTrilhos), which aims to collaborate with the improvement of the management of subway networks throughout Brazil
The study fee will be US $ 849,570, around R$ 4.85 million. The forecast is that the studies will be carried out within one year and involve the greatest specialists of the Brazilian operators, who will participate together with ANPTrilhos, in the monitoring of the execution of all the activities that will be carried out and in the approval of the products to be delivered by contracted companies.
“Technical cooperation between ANPTrilhos and USTDA seeks to improve efficiency and reduce costs related to energy and asset management of Brazilian systems, preparing the metro-rail sector for a faster recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic”, explains the board Chairman of ANPTrilhos, Joubert Flores.
In addition to this survey, a study on asset management will be carried out, with the receipt of proposals by July 2, 2021.
