Brazil will held a debate on the future of rail passenger transport in the country on July 4 in Brasilia, federal capital. ANPTrilhos Mobility Forum – by National Association of Passenger Rail Operators – is going to take place at Centro de Eventos e Convenções Brasil 21 and will bring together national and international experts from the sector and the President Candidates with the aim of discussing proposals and actions for the Brazilian metro rail network.
When it comes to mobility in Brazil – which has a population of 207.7 million concentrated in the major centers – factors such as quality of life, efficiency and expansion of the metro rail system of passengers, are fundamental.
For the President of ANPTrilhos Joubert Flores the road to efficiency is the complete integration of the transportation system and the optimization of resources.
“We have a rapid urbanization in the country that was not accompanied by transport infrastructure, where the number of victims in traffic is alarming, resulting in a high cost, even financial for society. Mobility is directly linked to Gross Domestic Product (GDP), as a fast and quality transportation will allow people to use the system and have more time for leisure activities or study, for example, moving the economy “, he comments.
During the Mobility Forum ANPTrilhos, will be presented the details of the sector and its contributions to increase the efficiency of Brazilian urban mobility, a debate that will be reinforced with international experience, where this social gain is already a reality, in addition to the participation of President Candidates. “To meet the demands of rail passenger transport in the coming years, it will be necessary to define conditions of attractiveness, coupled with investment guarantees for the private sector. For that, the creation of efficient regulation is fundamental. The purpose of the Forum is to outline the system and gather the candidates for the Presidency to discuss these and other proposals aimed at expanding and improving the passenger rail service network in Brazil” concludes Flores.
