The Special Commission for Urban Mobility Policy held a public hearing to discuss the implementation of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority at the Brazilian Congress Chamber of Deputies in Brasilia. The Special Committee is intended to give the opinion of Bill No. 4881/2012, which “establishes the guidelines of the Urban Mobility Metropolitan Policy (PMMU), creates the Urban Mobility Metropolitan Pact and the Metropolitan Transport Information System (SITRAM), with the Metropolitan Transport Authority and the Public Transport Metropolitan Fund and makes other arrangements”.
Audience participants emphasized the need to think about long-term policies, with State rather than governmental actions, with proper urban planning.
