The Light Rail Vehicle (VLT) of Fortaleza (in the State of Ceará, in the Northeast of Brazil) should have another section completed in the month of February this year. The forecast of the Secretaria da Infraestrutura do Estado (Seinfra) is to deliver the stretch of the lower passage of Avenida Borges de Melo.
Since July 2017, the system has been operating in a 5-km stretch between Parangaba and Borges de Melo stations. Altogether, the Parangaba-Mucuripe VLT project will be 13.6 km long and have 10 stations, it is expected to serve over 500 thousand residents. The system will connect with the South and East lines of the Fortaleza Metro and with road terminals.
