CCR Metrô Bahia, the Metro concessionaire in Salvador, in the Brazilian state of Bahia, inaugurated the Next Train project, which provides panels on the platforms showing the time until the next train arrives and its respective capacity. The system allows the passenger to choose the best part of the train to board, making the journey safer and more comfortable.
The system developed by the Salvador metro engineering, maintenance and technology teams is available at the Acesso Norte station on Line 1 and at the Bus Station, which is on Line 2.
The information is also available in the system’s application, allowing passengers to access this information at all stations by cell phone, even before leaving home or work. Until December this year, 10 other platforms will have this technology and by March 2022 the monitors will be available on all stations.
