The Companhia do Metropolitano do Distrito Federal (Metrô-DF), operator of the Brasília Metro system, in the capital of Brazil, approved the bidding process for the contracting of a human body temperature monitoring system, as a preventive measure against the coronavirus. The auction is intended for the purchase of 55 thermal and visual cameras, for installation in all stations and in the Administrative and Operational Complex.

The temperature will be measured by video and at a distance, operated by special cameras and specific software, in order to facilitate subway operators to identify users who may have a fever, and the respective guidance in accordance with health safety protocols. The equipment will be installed before the turnstiles, so any approach will be taken before the user enters the paid area of the system.
