The Ministry of Regional Development of Brazil announced an investment of R$ 89.3 million in passenger transportation systems on rails of the Companhia Brasileira de Trens Urbano (CBTU) in Natal (RN), Recife (PE) and João Pessoa (PB), all in Northeast Brazil.

R$ 58.3 million will be invested in the implementation of the White Line in Natal, with 24 km of track and four stations, with a forecast of 6,800 passengers using the service on a daily basis. In Recife, the South Line will receive an investment of R$ 21 million in the recovery of stations coverage and implementation of accessibility for people with disabilities or reduced mobility. In João Pessoa, R$ 10 million will be transferred for the implementation of four detours that will allow a reduction in waiting time and will bring more comfort and safety to passengers.
