Sao Paulo debates feasibility of Intercity Train with IDB

The Secretary of State for Metropolitan Transports of the State of São Paulo, Alexandre Baldy, met with members of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) on January 15 to discuss technical and financial alternatives to enable the Intercities Train.

According to the Secretariat, a cooperation agreement with the IDB, ANTT (National Land Transport Agency) and the Ministry of Infrastructure for the implementation of the Intercity Train should be signed shortly.

The Intercities Train project consists of the implementation of regional train lines to serve the regions of Campinas and the Paraíba Valley, which are municipalities in the interior of the State of São Paulo.
