The construction company Queiroz Galvão won bid for the implementation of Section 3, the extension of Line 1 of the Salvador-Lauro de Freitas Metro System, in the State of Bahia, in the Northeast of Brazil. The winning proposal was disclosed on February 20, after documentary analysis, at the headquarters of the Transport Company of the State of Bahia (CTB). The winner competed with six other proposals. The extension of Line 1 of the subway is part of the Metropolitan Region of Salvador (RMS) planning, including other mobility projects.
According to a statement from the Government of Bahia, Queiroz Galvão will be responsible for the elaboration and development of basic, executive and “as built” projects, execution of civil works and urbanization, supply and implementation of energy systems (aerial traction network and substation), social technical work for purposes of expropriation, in addition to the pre-operation of the implementation.
The stretch is about five kilometers long and provides for the construction of two metro stations: Campinas Station, located in the vicinity of Campinas de Pirajá and Brasilgás, and Águas Claras/Cajazeiras Station.
