Study will define the second stretch of Santos Tram, on São Paulo coast

The government of the State of São Paulo and the Metropolitan Transports Company (EMTU) have launched a bidding notice to hire the company that will execute the traffic study aiming at the implementation of the second stretch of the tram in Santos, on the coast of São Paulo State.

The notice is part of one of the stages in the phase of the enterprise, which the executive project is being finalized. It is expected that the announcement for the construction of the second stretch of the tram will be published in the second semester of this year.

EMTU calculates the total cost of the construction to de around R$430 million – R$270 million only for the civil works. The 8 kilometres route will have 14 stations for passengers boarding and unboarding.
