A survey carried out by Instituto Datafolha, a Brazilian research institution, points out that 88% of the users of the Light Rail VLT Carioca evaluate the system positively (good or very good). The analysis also pointed out that 89% of respondents felt safe in using the VLT Carioca during the pandemic with the prevention actions adopted in the period. The assessment has a margin of error of 3 percentage points and a confidence level of 95%.

Considered the most important aspect (52%) for those who use the VLT Carioca, comfort was also the best evaluated item in the survey, with approval by 92% of the participants. On the other hand, operational safety had 80% of “good/very good” opinions, recognizing the Concessionaire’s actions to prevent accidents.

In relation to Covid-19, the most praised item was the cleaning and sanitization of the trains (83%). Of the public interviewed, 57% started using the VLT Carioca over the last 2 years, during the pandemic period. Commuting to work is the main reason for using the system for 77% of people. On weekends, up to 52% travel for tourism or leisure.
