The Municipality of Campinas, in the countryside of the State of São Paulo, published the authorization for two companies and a consortium to carry out studies for the implementation of an 18 km urban railway system, connecting Pátio Ferroviário de Campinas, in the city center, and Viracopos International Airport.
Those selected groups were BYD do Brasil, the Institute for the Development of Transport Systems (Idestra) and the consortium formed by TS Infraestrutura e Engenharia S/A, Aerom Sistemas de Transportes SA, FBS Construção Civil e Pavimentação SA and JOFEGE – Paviment and Construction Ltd.
