MetrôRio, which operates the subway system in the city of Rio de Janeiro, completed two years of using the technology by NFC (Near Field Communication) approximation with more than 1.4 million payments made in transport, both at the 41 stations and bus lines that are part of its operation. The solution has been increasing its share of transactions and, in the last six months, it grew 140%. With the pandemic, the payment method has become a safer alternative for customers, as it avoids queuing and handling money.
