The Companhia do Metropolitano de São Paulo, also known as Metrô de São Paulo, celebrated its 50th anniversary on April 24. The company held a series of activities to celebrate the date and exhibited a replica of a car from the original Metro’s original fleet of trains – the A fleet – on the mezzanine of Sé Station, in the central region of São Paulo. The replica, created by the company’s maintenance staff, features several of the original items from the first trains manufactured by MAFERSA in the early 1970s, such as the mask, cabin, operator seat, control console, parking brakes, fans and doors.
Also as part of the commemorations of the date, the company has launched the new uniforms of the operation employees and security agents, a commemorative ticket that will be sold exclusively in the vending machines and a new store of licensed products under the Metrô brand.
