The Government of the State of São Paulo has authorized the publication of the notice for Line 15-Silver of Metro in the city of São Paulo. The objective is to grant the private initiative the operation and maintenance of Line 15 for a period of 20 years. The contract value is estimated at R$ 4.5 billion.

The bidding notice is available at the website of Secretaria dos Transportes Metropolitanos (www.stm.sp.gov.br). The auction should be held on June 26 at the headquarters of B3 (formerly BM & FBOVESPA), in the center of São Paulo capital. The minimum bid for grant is R$ 153.3 million.

The criterion of judgment will be the one of greater value offered, in national currency, by the fixed granting of the concession. To increase the competition, the bidding is done in the international mode. All members of consortia that form the Specific Purpose Societies (in Portuguese, SPEs) that operate in the metro area are endowed with the competence to participate.

The monorail line has been running since August 2014 between Vila Prudente and Oratório stations, 2.9 km of tracks, with the maneuvering yard. Works on the second stretch of the line, between Oratório and São Mateus, are under works. There will be over 15 km of overpass tracks, 27 new trains and nine stations. In all, the State Government invests R$ 5.2 billion.
