The construction company Queiroz Galvão won tender for the implementation of Section 3, the extension of Line 1 of the Salvador-Lauro de Freitas Metro System, in the State of Bahia. The winning proposal was released on March 20, after documentary analysis in a public session, at the headquarters of Companhia de Transportes do Estado da Bahia (CTB).
Consisting of two lines, with the length of 33 km already in operation, the Metro System of Salvador and Lauro de Freitas transports daily over 350 thousand passengers. With the extensions of Section 3 of Line 1 and Section 2 of Line 2, from the Airport to Lauro de Freitas, the system will reach 42 km.
