The National Association of Passenger Rail Operators (ANPTrilhos), which represents the subway, urban train and Light Rail Vehicle operators in Brazil, participated in the first meeting of the Consultative Forum on Urban Mobility of the Ministry of Regional Development of the Brazilian government. The Association was invited by the government to compose the Forum, which will advise the National Secretariat for Mobility and Regional and Urban Development of the Ministry of Regional Development in the evaluation of urban public transport services; in the proposition of actions, programs, studies and projects; and promoting the exchange of information on national and international experiences related to the sector.
Throughout the day, representatives of the Ministry of Regional Development and the 11 institutions that make up the collegiate debated potential measures to strengthen the mobility production chain and improve the services provided to the population. According to the Ministry of Regional Development, the group will meet every four months, on an ordinary basis.
“ANPTrilhos is honored to contribute with the Ministry of Regional Development in the definition of public policies and directions for Brazilian urban mobility”, highlighted the Executive Director of ANPTrilhos, Roberta Marchesi.
