The Government of the State of Bahia held, in the month of January, a public hearing to clarify doubts and receive suggestions for the bidding for the remodeling project of the urban train of the city of Salvador into a Light Rail Vehicle (VLT). The project will be executed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) regime. Salvador is in the Northeast region of Brazil.
With a total estimated investment of R$ 1.5 billion, the VLT will have 18.5 kilometers in length and 21 stations in a 40-minute itinerary. The prediction for the start of works is within 90 days after the signing of the agreement, with a term of 24 months for the completion. The calculated value is of R$ 1.5 billion.
