The Executive Director of the National Association of Passenger Rail Operators (ANPTrails), Roberta Marchesi, participated in the opening ceremony of the Virtual Symposium: Railway Technology in Austria, promoted by the Consulate of Austria in Brazil.

At the opening of the event, Commercial Consul of Austria in Brazil, Klaus Hofstadler, explained that Austria is the seventh largest world exporter of railway technologies and equipment.

The ANPTrilhos executive spoke about the situation in Brazil in light of the crisis generated by Covid-19 and highlighted that, despite the moment of the pandemic, metro rail projects continued to advance in the country. “This year we had the concession of Lines 8 and 9 by Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos, which was a great success, even in the midst of a pandemic and at a very serious time for the sector, which shows the attractiveness of the passenger metro rail sector for private investment. This has been happening gradually and continues, and we still have expectations of new projects going on for the next year”, she explained.
