Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos (CPTM), responsible for the operation of urban trains in the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo, is using a new train cleaning system by spraying a mist of tiny ionized droplets of disinfectants. The sanitizing solution used in this system sanitizes and eliminates microorganisms and suspended particles, such as bacteria, germs and viruses, including the new coronavirus. All products are approved by Anvisa, the World Health Organization and the United States Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC).

The internal cleaning process of each car takes about eight minutes. CPTM will be the first rail transport company to use this technology to combat Covid-19. The equipment, of Brazilian technology, was donated to CPTM by the company BioGuard.
