The auction for the concession of the 5-Lilac subway lines and the 17-Gold subway monorail of the São Paulo subway was held on the morning of January 19th, in the city of São Paulo. The 20 years concession is for the operation of the two lines and the winner of the auction will have to invest R$ 3 billion.

Two consortiums participated in the competition, which had the minimum bid stipulated in R$ 189 million. The winning proposal was by Via Mobility Consortium, composed by CCR S/A and RuasInvest Participações S/A, with a fixed grant proposal of R$ 553,880,400.00 – 185% goodwill. The Metrô São Paulo Consortium, with CS Brasil Transportes de Passageiros e Serviços Ambientais Ltda and Seoul Metro, presented a proposal of R$ 388,500,000.00 – 99.9% goodwill.

The CCR Group has participation in Line 4-Yellow in São Paulo, in the Subway of Salvador (in the state of Bahia), and in the VLT Carioca (in the city of Rio de Janeiro), as well as activities in the areas of buses, boats, highways and airports. The RuasInvest Group also has a stake in Line 4-Yellow of the Metro, in bus companies and recently announced the acquisition of 15% of the concession of the line 6-Orange of the São Paulo Metro, which works is paralyzed.

Line 5-Lilás operates between Capão Redondo and Adolfo Pinheiro stations. Since last year, a new stretch of 2.8 km – which includes Alto da Boa Vista, Borba Gato and Brooklin stations – operates without charge and with a different schedule.

The 17-Gold Line has as a priority stretch of 7.7 km and 8 station route that will connect Congonhas Airport to the Morumbi station of Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos (CPTM). The stretch is under construction and must be delivered in 2019.
